Re: Disecting Bosch 139 Module

Thanks Matt! I was not getting my subscriptions so it took a little while for me to realize you had responded (okay a LONG while...) :(

Okay I am missing something basic here (other than just sleep  ). ...
What did me in? Well pin 2 on the module is the ground. And internally it is connected ...

Re: Piggybacking an MS1 on an MS2

So I am dealing with a simular project in a few ways. Not to go into that here, but I have done simular now, and in the past.

So for these Lucas ECU replacements ALL you want is fuel control? I would suggjest a little bit of ectra effort and brainstorming making it a simple extra step up to full ...

Re: Disecting Bosch 139 Module

Can anyone explain in detail the differances electricaly in operation and what occurs in MegaSquirt between inverted and non inverted control?

I am still trying to wrap my brain around this and figure out how this module functions in its stock configuration.

Disecting Bosch 139 Module

Okay I am missing something basic here (other than just sleep  ). Posted up another thread about converting a 139 Ignition module to a 124 style. But anyways now that I have this module gutted and open, I see something that crashes my brain. And I realize I am likely missing something basic in ...

Re: Trouble shooting resets

Also while everyone usally checks over grounds really well, take a really good look at the power distribution side of things. I have spent more time than I would care to admit to tracign down random issues like this to find a bad power cable on the battery.

I remeber once staring at battery ...

Re: Trouble shooting resets

This may not be relevant here, but I have seen almost this exact set of described problems a few times before. The first time it stumped the heck out of me. On installs that have been in service for many, many miles, the DB 37 plug pins can get fatigued. The culprit usally seems to be the fuel pump ...

Ignition Module Protection and Mods

For many years I have personally run, and installed many more Bosch Ignition modules. These babies are damn near bulletproof. I can not say I have ever seen one that has failed. If so, infrequent enough that I do not remember replacing any...

But they do have a weakness. It is pretty much ...

I finally got my Megasquirt up and running on my Jeep CJ7's 258 last night....

Would you be willing to share details of your ignition interface and setup? I am new to Jeeps (Sparkin a buddies) and for the life of me I can't find ANY solid information out there on the ignition system in this CJ7 ...

Re: differnt relay board's

There is a really good book out there called Performance Fuel Injection. It has some really good information in it on building your own harnesses. You can find it here: http://www.DIYAutoTune.com/catalog/performance-fuel-injection-systems-hp-books-p-436.html In fact the guys over there at ...

Re: Piggybacking an MS1 on an MS2

A dual processor board was made a while back by Emtech Motorsports and sold by Glen's Garage. http://www.glensgarage.com/catalog/msexp-dual-processor-expansion-board-p-89.html

I am not completely sure if it is what your after as it almost sounds like you want to just "swap processors" without ...

Re: Audi/VW ELTH CLT sensor calibration data

The people talking advantage of VW sensors do so only from a perspective of cost. As for the place holder, one of the VW block off plugs can EASILY be drilled out and tapped for the GM sensors.

Harness? Well more than 90% of my installs use all new plugs and wiring.... The cost of using old plugs ...

Re: Audi/VW ELTH CLT sensor calibration data

Not sure what car that sensor is off of.... As I posted in another thread the Bosch sensors are junk. Calibrating them is near impossible and if you ever change the sensor you very well may have to recalibrate it. The Bosch temp sensor tolorances litterly are that bad!

Want the simple answer? Run ...

Re: Any way to extend a IAT wire/plug

Been doing installs for a while now. If you can run the GM stuff, they are a LOT BETTER than the Bosch temp sensors. The bosch sensors suprisingly are not built to the tolerances the GM ones are. And I am a diehard Euro cars guy too. I run GM sensors in all my cars and most of my installs.

Re: Water injection nozzle before or after IAT

Put the water injection nozzle before the IAT. I try to have it 6-8 inches before too so it gets a better picture of the temp drop introduced by the water injection. I have not seen an increase in IAT failures on any of the water injected cars I have owned or played with. If your still concerned ...

I am not an expert on hot air systems... But I did a lot of research when looking for my station. Hot air systems are more geared towards reworking and repair of surface mount boards. I don't think one would WANT to spend 5hrs listening to a noisy hot airsystem. You use it for the neccisary job and ...

First off you DO NOT want the ECU under the hood. Descicant isn't going to cut it. The issue is heat, moisture and vibration. Not all the components in the ECU are rated for the heat and the extra vibration isn't good either.

If you absolutly had to have it under the hood, then you need to make ...
