Re: Turbo upgrade/ignition timing

Thanks again for your reply. I'm really looking forward to this upgrade. It is the first power upgrade I've done since I put the engine in the car.

Re: Turbo upgrade/ignition timing

Thanks for the reply. I should also mention that I will be getting rid of the stock intercooler at the same time. Hopefully, I won't see any more 160 deg F charge temps. :)

Turbo upgrade/ignition timing

Hello, My setup at the moment is a Nissan CA18DET with head work and the standard T25 turbo. I just purchased a GT2860RS, and I plan on installing it in the next couple of weeks. I'm aware that I'm going to have to retune. I'm not too worried about the fuel map, but I am curious what effects the lar...

Re: Injectors stop firing after cranking rpms exceeded

I think the problem may be that your map and tps sample rates are set to 0. Mine are set to 25 ms. Not sure if that is the default or not.

Re: Mixture enrichment after a cold start.

You probably need to adjust your after start enrichment a bit, too. My engine also likes a bit of cold advance to help get things going after cranking.

You might want to try http://www.mrinjector.us/. He is local in my area. I haven't used his services yet, but many of my friends have.

I built this some years ago when I started my first Megasquirt project. The pictures are small, but it should give you the idea.

Re: Switch type tps

Hi,

I still have to get some pictures later today. I sourced mine at the junkyard and paid about $5 for it. Here are some Nissan part numbers that may help you out: 22620-18E00 or 22620-18E01.

Re: Switch type tps

I had to deal with the same issue when I had my CA20E engine. I used a later style TPS from a Maxima or 240SX. The later sensors have shorter mounting ears and two connectors. I made a bracket to go over the sensor and connect it to the throttle body. I can take a picture tomorrow if you want.

Noise Concern

Hi, I'm getting ready to install a MS-II on my 1986 Nissan Stanza Wagon (aka Prairie/Multi) with the CA20E engine. This 4-cylinder engine has 8 spark plugs and 4 of them are on each side of the engine. From the factory, the spark plug wires nearly touch the fuel injector wires. Is this going to be a...

Re: VR ignition drop out - occasional

Are you trying the transistor mod for the hall circuit? If so, the MPS 2222A should be fine for this.

Re: VR ignition drop out - occasional

Sorry, I am not real experienced with VR sensors yet. What about the air gap between the sensor and the trigger? Also, I've heard about some people adding a resistor in series with the VR signal. I'm not sure what this actually does.

Re: VR ignition drop out - occasional

Have you tried adjusting the R52 & R56 pots? This might help. This is from the manual: Start with the R56 pot all the way counter-clockwise, and R52 about 6 to 8 turns clockwise from the fully counter clockwise position. The fully counter clockwise position is reached when the pot clicks (you ca...

My dad's Walbro pump does this also. It does take a little longer to start since the system has to build pressure first.

Re: Subaru Igniter

I don't actually have a Subaru to scope. I got the coil pack and igniter from the junkyard for use in my Sentra. I'm planning on going to wasted spark and using a 36-1 wheel. I may just try messing with it until I get it to work. Thanks.

Subaru Igniter

Hi, I was wondering if anyone was using the Subaru igniter (P/N: 22438-AA030, DIS4-03, Hitachi) to drive their wasted spark coils? If so, how are you triggering it with your Megasquirt? According to the FSM, it looks like the factory ECM uses a transistor with the collector tied to 12V with a resist...

I made a modified .ini file for the latest 2.885 code. If you aren't using this code, you can at least see the changes to take advantage of this variable.
