IAC and idle speed

Post by RdSnake »

Im running MS-II v3.0 EDIS and IRTB's and Im starting to wire a jeep iac valve/iac block combo. Im wondering if the IAC valve will be responsible for idle speed once the engine reaches normal operating temperature or is it a funcion of the throttles cracked a little bit open to let air in?
Ive got the impression that the throttles will be completely closed and the IAC will be responsible for idle speed during normal operating temperature and also prevent the engine from bogging or stumbling when you drive the car from a stand still or when you engage the clutch.

RdSnake,

AFAIK MS2 does not support closed loop idle control, would be nice though. Maybe the next iteration?

You will still have to set you base idle speed with the throtle bades at oper. temp, the IAC will control your fast/ warmup idle speed. As you reach oper. temp the IAC will close.
