fuel reg dimensions

Post by cwest »

Can anybody help ,i am trying to find the diameter of a bosch fuel reg that will plug directly into the end of the fuel rail,i have a stand alone type but i think it would look better if the reg was plugged directly into the rail.. The photos i have seen seem to show it to be about the same as an injector top.
I need to get the diameter of the plug in section that goes into the rail so i can source the correct rail size from ross machine and ream it if necessary
thanks in advance

I don't think you have supplied enough information about your particular configuration to get an answer to your question.
1980 450slc converted to MegaSquirt electronic fuel injection and couldn't be happier! Using the stock dizzy and a MSD 6AL ignition along with the stock Bosch ignition box. Home built fuel rails out of aluminum fuel rail stock. Using 19lb mustang injectors I purchased off of ebay.

OK i am going to fab some fuel rails, i intend to use ross machine extruded section, i was going to use a remote type reg with hoses to it however i thought a plug in style of reg in the end of the rail would "look" better ,so what i asking about is the diameter of the bayonet that actually plugs into a fuel rail,i know bosch make them in 3 different pressures (2.5,3&3.5 bar)and looking at pictures of them they seem to have approx the same dia as an injector top ,which would make sense ,but i need to confirm this so i can order the correct fuel rail size which i will ream to the finish size.
Thanks ,i hope this makes more sense,
still :RTFM: :RTFM: :RTFM:
i found a pic here http://www.thepartsbin.com/repsite/bosc ... parts.html

Would it not be better to obtain your injectors and make the rail to fit?

Sorry, misread reg as injectors, but then again wouldn't it be better to get the fuel reg first? (measure then order?)

We make a regulator adapter to fit those regulators. The o'ring on them is the same as the bosch injectors for your ref. It is $45 if it makes it easier for ya.

We also make other style
