Hybrid Alpha-N

Post by hsitko »

Hey peoples. I have some questions about hybrid alpha n. I was wondering how exactly to set it up and i was also wondering if it was compatible with megasquirt systems that utilized ford edis? The current setup i am running is in an 85 toyota corolla. I have a 20v blacktop that runs individual throttles. The car runs and everything right now. I spent a lot of time on the dyno making a map for it. Problem is, i set the map that i made up on map. Turns out the car runs funny at certain altitudes and certain barometer readings. I'm considering retuning everything some time in the near future and wanted to see if anyone had any good recommendations for which setup to use. From my research hybrid alpha n is the way to go. Let me know!

If the car runs ok right now, except at certain altitudes and baro readings,.then that in itself is no reason to switch to alphaN. If you have a separate barometer input and you select table barometer correction, then you can tune the correction. For example if you have trouble whne baro reads less than 90, then richen or lean up the corrections below this baro reading.

If you have other reasons for switching to alphaN, that is fine. But since you have the car running decently now, I would do what I said above first. Then, with the 2.883 code, the same baro correction data will be applied to the alphaN fueling.

Well one of the problems with itb's is that they see somewhere around 90kpa at somewhere around 30% throttle. That makes my tables pretty strange. And the movement around them pretty strange too. I'm more concerned with how this thing runs and its ability to run like an oem car. I really dont think map is good for itb's.
