MAP - TPS accel enrichment question

Post by 64Vair »

I have a bit of hesitation on accelleration. I want to change my AE from TPS to 50% TPS 50% MAP. I am not really sure what values to enter in the menu. I have left everything at the default for now. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. I am running MS2 V 3.0 with 2.88 code.
Thanks!

Grab a datalog, then in Megalogviewer you can show trendlines of tpsdot and mapdot. These both represent rate of change of their respective inputs. For TPS, you can do that in the shop with the engine off, but for TPS dot, you need running data.

Also take a look at your datalogs to see if there's any noise or ripple on the MAP and/or TPS signal. Make sure you set the threshold values above the ripple amount. From there, vary the AE time amounts until it takes throttle smoothly at various rates.

On mine, my max tps dot when I whack the throttle was about 470 %/s. I set the max tpsdot bin to 500 and the min to 120 with a threshold of 100.

Also, on the AE setup screen, the bargraph to the left of the TPS %/s bins gives a momentary indication of rate.

It's the rate of change in the TPS value -- i.e. how fast you are applying the throttle.

MAPdot use can really help with tipin hesitation in some situations. I have found that setting the MAPdot threshhold as low as possible without gettin inappropiate triggers is important. One method would be to keep dropping it (whil idling) until you get unintentional AE triggers; at this point add, say, 5 to that number and give it a try. The other numbers are important as well and can be determined by spending some quality time viewing your logs.

Ok I know this sounds like I am a stupid but when you guys say AE, what is that? I mean i get AFR, VE, MAP Etc. Theres a lot of things in the tuning manual that dont correspond to the latest megatune program. Thank You Greg

Accel Enrichment. There is a glossary in the mega manual here: http://www.megamanual.com/v22manual/mapp.htm#gloss
