Watched Bruce's Noise Video, now concerned about two things

Post by PDenbigh »

I watched Bruce's video on noise and it has me concerned about a couple of things. (THANKS Bruce :-P)

1. I'm preparing to install my recently assembled MS into my Ford 2.3 using my 55lb Low-Z injectors and EDIS-4. I used a bigger transistor (TIP120) on the PWM flyback, and I also followed step 69 regarding the PWM flyback dampening circuit. I have good isolation on everything I should on the heatsink.

Do I need to add capacitors/resistors on each injector, reroute the board trace, or add a car audio capacitor still?

This is going in a road race car, so I have a main disconnect switch that is "alternator safe" (it has a resistor grounding it). Does this change anything with how I should install things?

2. PWM Idle - I'm using the stock Ford PWM idle control valve, two wires. Will I be overloading anything using this throttle AND the low-z injectors?

Is there anything else I should consider regarding this that I might not be even thinking of?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Peter

PS, I'm using the relay board if that matters...

Thanks!

I'm guessing by the lack of response that this must have been addressed elsewhere, however I did search quite a bit prior to posting and couldn't find what I was hoping to find. If it has been addressed specifically, please forgive me and kindly share a link.

Thanks,
Peter

Did you ever find info on what the best way to handle it is? I have watched the video, run LowZ and have noise/rpm issues and think I need some or all of these mods. I wish it were better documented, I've heard some accounts of what people did, being a mechanical guy I don't know in which direction to go.
