MSII V3 2.88

Post by ashleyroachclip »

Morning friends ,
Well I got my board built , and it passed all of the tests , and loaded software .
My problem is that the injectors don't seem to be opening .
I don't have a stim , but do have the car wired and everything is installed .
When I turn the key on , I get the quick flash of all 3 led's .
As the engine is cranking the 1st LED (inj) flashes .
I have spark , and the engine will fire if I spray fuel in the throttle body .
When this happens , the #1 led flashes , the #2 led stays lit and the #3 led is off .
When the engine dies , 32 led will stay on until I turn the key off .
Everything seems to work in Mega Tune .
THe car will run if It could get fuel , and the manual says that the #1 led will flash every time an injector fires ....
So do I just not have the pulse width keeping them open long enough to get fuel into the cylinders ?
Help is always appreciated .
Sorry this is on a 91 Ford Mustang , using all stock sensors .

The LED is not tied directly to the injector drivers and in this case you shouldn't attempt diagnosis-by-LED. You could try checking if the injectors are firing with a noid light at the injector plugs. This won't tell you if they aren't spraying enough fuel, though. You could post a data log of the engine starting and a copy of your MSQ; while I don't have exact settings for your car, I can check if anything's obviously off.

I tried to get the car to run enough to get some data logging , but I am having to squirt fuel into the throttle body .
Only runs for a minute or so .I'll try to post up the msq , and the log from the brief time it ran .
All help is very appreciated

I don't have a noid light , but used my DVM , and I found I have 12+ volts at the injectors ,on both legs , I don't think that is right ?
This is with the key on of course .

The comm logs are tough to interpret; could you please take one from the File -> Datalogging menu instead?

Before you try to start your car set up data recording:
In Megatune, File/dataloging/record

Well today was a very good day for me .
I found the wires I needed to use to make the fuel pump work with the factory harness , still didn't work with MS , I opened it up again , and found the pump circuit , and low and behold I had a bridge of solder , cleaned that up , and pump worked when turning the key , as it should .
And then I cranked , and cranked ....It started !!!!.
Is not running real well , but it did run long enough to datalog .
I hope I can get the information you guys need from tuner studio , if not I think I can get it to run again enough to datalog from mega tuner .
I'm so excited right now I can hardly type .

I got the car to start and run today .
I was smelling gas , the engine was full of it , changed the oil and filter ,checked plugs , one bank (1234 ) are firing good , and the other bank (5678)are soaked with fuel , starting to fill the crank case again .
I should be able to look at the data log tonite , maybe something will jump out at me .
