Volkswagon megasquirt guru's wanted

Post by jrocco »

hey I am trying to make sure my req fuel is set properly. I have a VW ABA 2.0 with 9:1 compression. MY req fuel is set at 16.6 right now. I would like to see some MSQ's from other vw aba projects. MY car has an ABA with 9:1, compression stock cam, 48lb injectors, an a T25 turbo. If anyone has a similar setup I would like to hear from you an do some comparison as far as set up an tuning goes.

Usint the req_fuel calculator in MegaTune I come up with 6.8 as the req_fuel.

Values I plugged in: 2000cc, 4 cylinders, 48 lb/hr, and 14.7 afr
1967 VW Beetle turbo
v3.57 board, MSNS-e 029v, EDIS
Check out my ongoing success story.

thanks for your reply, ya you are right. 6.8 is correct. I could give the long story of why i hve 16.8 in the req fuel but ill make it short an sweet. I was out of town changed req fuel on the fly, (ya I know your not able to do that without scrambling the firmware). So an hour out of town my laptop dies. Unable to reload firmware. It also ruined my whole MSQ. SO.... I had to load an old map to get me home. Of course I forgot that I had just upgraded my injectors from 25lbers to the 48lb ones in now. Now Im back at square one with the tuning.
So thanks for reminding me that I need to change that. Thats why Ive been so dang rich.... Its been over a year since Ive been able to play with my car. My 8 month old son takes all my extra time up.

Oh I have one other question, when you edit the map bins you cant have megatune generate a map for that right. Just for 100 kPa. correct? when i generate a fuel map all my edited map bins go back to default.
