EDIS 4 timing
First off the computer that I have for tuning I can't post the msq file or a datalog...so try to think past that for me if you can.
Megatune is showing that it is controlling timing according to my ignition map. I've got good tach signal and everything looks good on the laptop. The actual timing on the engine is showing 6 degrees advanced no matter what. No change I've made will actually affect what the timing is at...so I figured it was in limp mode which I know is 10 degrees but maybe its just my angles and stuff. What would cause this? The module itself? Anything you can think of would be great. Thanks.
Braden
I'm running a ms I with MS II daughter board...running 2.89

Re: EDIS 4 timing
In MegaTune, set:
Trigger offset = 0° (this will vary, depending on the wheel/pickup configuration),
Ignition Input Capture to 'Rising Edge', ('Falling Edge' for MicroSquirt® only if using the VR input circuit - not recommmended),
Cranking Trigger to 'Calculated',
Coil Charging Scheme to 'EDIS',
Spark Output to 'Going High (Inverted)', ('Going High (Inverted)' for MicroSquirt).
Trigger Wheel Teeth to '0' (zero)
I just went and double checked the wiring...I'm 100% sure on it. What do you mean for the output mode Matt? This is a computer that your reset for me back in April. I don't know if you would remember or not. I bought it second hand from a known car that ran well with the same ignition setup. I havn't done anything to the computer internally.
Re: EDIS 4 timing
Is there a test I can do with a meter on the SAW end comeing from megasquirt to the module? Pin #36 dark brown wire?
Braden
edit: Since this is a MS1 2.2 board with MSII daughter board....is this the right PIN? or should it be something else? This has me a little confused?
V2.2 main board:
the 5th hole of JP1 to the SAW pin (#3) on the EDIS module (which you can jumper to an unused DB37 pin, if you want),
the PIP pin (#1 on the EDIS module) to DB37 pin #24,
Make sure D8 (the 'John' Zener diode) is jumpered.

Re: EDIS 4 timing
I found where it is supposed to be connected. BUT....when I was putting it on I pulled one of the wired off the flyback board and even after re soldering it...I can't get the car to run now....the Middle light is staying on. It is the 12v supply for the flyback board...when I did it the conductive ring came off of the board with the wire....lol....so now I have to try to fix this....Does this sound like I'm on the right track though...would this cause the middle light to stay on.?

Re: EDIS 4 timing
I re soldered the 12v supply to the flyback board but still cant keep the car running. All three lights flash when powered up...everything looks good in megatune but then when I try to crank the middle light stays on and I'm not getting fuel. What do you think is going on? Or what should I do to trouble shoot this?

Usually the middle LED means you're in warmup mode.
Re: EDIS 4 timing
So maybe its suppossed to be on and I have another issue?

Re: EDIS 4 timing
I did the injector test and the car will run on test mode also...It doesn't matter what I do to VE or required fuel...it starts and just dies. I don't know what is causing the fuel to stop. Since it will run on test mode does this confirm that the flyback board and everything is ok? I just have some other issue now? All I did was put an extension...(solder) on to an existing wire that was on the 5th hold of JP1...Again..I can add all the fuel I want...The car starts and AFRs go all the way to 11 or 12 and immiediatly lean out and the car dies...I don't know what to do now.

I don't think its in the tune...It doesn't matter how much I turn on VE or Req fuel...no change..If I drove up to the shop do you think you would be able to help me out with the computer again? Do yall accept trade-ins? lol...j/k I've tried everything I can think of at this point...and without being able to show you an msq file I'm stuck...Let me know what you think.
