Wire gauge for X1 X2 and X3 on relay board

Post by GGR »

Hi all,

I nearly finished the engine loom. I'm left with soldering wires to X1, X2 and X3 on the relay board, which are respectively 12V Batt, Switched 12V and Engine ground. I think I read somewhere that engine ground should be 12-14 gauge, but I was not able to find any info about the two others.

Thanks in advance!

12V Batt should be around 12 gauge, 12 volt switched can be lighter like 20 gauge, and I'd probably use two or three separate 12 to 13 gauge wires for ground.

Thanks!

Would you ground all the three wires at the same place on the engine, at different places on the engine, or even get one run to the battery negative?

Thanks!

Same place on the engine or battery negative.
