L28ET no RPM or cranking status

Post by Adr3naline »

Hey all!

Here's the setup:
MS2 w/ V3 board using B&G v2.89 firmware
L28ET using stock distributor (brand new distributor)
Everything hardware and msq. wise has been confirmed by Peter at PFTuning and on his stim.
Pics of the board:

I wired the distributor up via this diagram:

I am not getting RPM or "cranking" status when turning the motor over. I have the board setup to drive the ignition coil via pin 36 out to the neg. side of the coil. I have confirmed I have a good 12v and ground going to the distributor while cranking, I have confirmed continuity on pin 24 from the connector on the bottom of the distributor to the pin going into the ecu. I have confirmed my pullup resistor is reading .980 and the 12v source behind it is good.

Now, when I give 12v straight to pin 24, I get constant spark. So I know the MS is recognizing signal as it should and is driving the coil as it should when it sees the signal. It's seems as though I just cannot get the correct signal in. The only thing I have yet to try is an oscilliscope which I do not have. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks!

Could you please post a copy of your MSQ?

Also, can you get RPM on a Stim?
