Still can't break 3k rpm

Post by bmcewen »

I can't seem to figure out why i can't break 3000 rpm just before it hits 3k it's starts backfiring(afterfire through exhaust) . It sounds like a machine gun. could this possibly be the ignition module in the hei? i can't see anything going on in the logs...

After a very brief look, a couple things jump out at me.

~45 degrees advance at ~3000 rpm? Seems a bit much to me........

Your ve table is very steep on the rpm axis. Is there a reason for that?

Just a couple of my thoughts.......

maybe i miss understood how to figure the timing i thought it was supposed to increase with while kPa drops, so if i have 36 degrees at 3000rpm and 90 kPa then it would go up as the kPa goes down which is why its 45 at 3000 rpm and 35 kPa. and the ve table is still basically just the generated tablei haven't tried to get it out of park and drive it because i can't get it to stop backfiring

so i decided to listen to the car instead of tuning theories LOL set all the bins in hihger rpm and lower map to 36 degrees and the backfire went away :yeah!:.. and it revs to 5500 just fine

I use VEAL in TunerStudio. (available in paid version)

It works very well for me.
