Choice of O2 Sensor

Choice of O2 Sensor
Is there any advantage to having a gauge reading AFR in real time as opposed to simply installing a wide-band controller (such as the Techedge 2Jx or AEM 30-2310)?
I've found several threads in which there are "issues" with the information displayed on the gauge not agreeing exactly with that shown in Tuner Studio(TS). The thread usually ended with the display in TS being adjusted to match the gauge with no real indication which indication might be more correct. I haven't found anything to indicate that a given wide-band controller simply won't work with a MS-II.
Comments and guidance are certainly appreciated.

Personally, I like having an AFR readout all the time. I've built an LED display into one of the existing gauges in my car to avoid having an extra stuck on gauge.

In my situation, when I installed the relay board I routed the wires for the O2 sensor up into the engine compartment. The AEM unit would be easiest to mount, since it looks like it could live there and the wires are already where they need to be. The Tech Edge would probably best be mounted under the dash and so would any panel mounted gauge. Each option would require re-routing a bunch of wires.
I was wondering if there is useful information to be gathered from a dedicated readout of the AFR or if this falls more into the "cool looking display" area. (Although impressive displays are not to be lightly discounted!)
