broken fuel pump cirquit??

Post by miniman »

Hello

I have a MS II vith V3 board. I have been running this for three years on my TPI. This winter i have replaced the wiring harness and doing so i accidently put a relay in that sent +12 volts into pin 37 in the ms when the ignition was turned on. Now the fuel pump wont run. The fuel pump diod on the stim doesn´t light up either. Can anybody advice in what components i could have destroyed by doing this? The car starts upp nicely if i bypass the fuel pump directly to the battery. I have also uppgraded to the latest firmware for the msII.

Best regards

Q2 and possibly Q19. They are both so cheap it might be worth just replacing the pair while you've got the MS on the bench.

Hello.

I can´t get a hold of the exact components in Sweden. The subtitutes suggested by the electronics company for ZTX450-ND is ZTX690B with this specs:

ZTX690B
Vendor Diodes/Zetex
Category
Discrete Semiconductor Products
Transistor Type
NPN
Voltage - Collector Emitter Breakdown (Max) 45V
Current - Collector (Ic) (Max) 2A
Power - Max 1W
DC Current Gain (hFE) (Min) @ Ic, Vce 400 @ 1A, 2V
Vce Saturation (Max) @ Ib, Ic 500mV @ 5mA, 1A
Frequency - Transition 150MHz
Current - Collector Cutoff (Max)

The substitute for 2N3904FS-ND is 2N3904 with these specs:
TO-92
Polarity NPN
current kollektor-emitter 40 V
Kollektorpower 0.2 A
Frequency - Transition 300 MHz
gain 30...300

Can anybody advise if these parts are ok to use? Don´t wan´t to do more damage than i have already done.

Just about any NPN transistors would do - provided the output one can handle 0.5 amp or so. :D Obviously check the pin outs if using different ones.

Hello.

Thank you very much for helping me with this. I finally got the time to fix this. I replaced Q2 and Q19 and now it works again.
