Going distributorless

Post by nolzzee »

MsII , 3.57, 2.9 firm w. , 4 cyl. V-DUB . Im doing homework :RTFM: befor I start converting to wasted spark coil pack. Im going to use a coil pack from a 2000 jetta, as it has the coil drivers incorp. into coil pk. module. I know I need to mod. MSII for the 2nd ign. out sig. My question is do I select the dual spark option and set the #2 output to -180 deg. or +180 deg. Would also like any input on the coil pack I want to use . They are less than $40 on Ebay and I wont need a seperate coil driver module. PS, I will be using a 36-1 trig. wh. If any one has pin out info on this coil that wold be great. THANKS , Noel

Here you go.
Pin 1: Gray - A (cylinders 1 and 4)
Pin 2: Switched 12V – from relay
Pin 3: Gray - B (cylinders 2 and 3)
Pin 4: Ground

If it was me I would update the firmware to 3.78 and use the auto trigger setup. This almost makes the toothed wheel setup foolproof.

I am not sure which version of Tunerstudio you have to use with the 3.78 firmware, but i'm sure someone will let you know.
