Different menu's on different computers.

Post by tltony »

When I built and tested my MS II v3, I used my desk top computer. After installation in the car, I began using a lap top. I'm using Tuner Studio on both computers, downloaded from the same location.

I'm using alpha-n tuning due to lack of a map sensor attached to my Hilborn throtthe body.
Here's my problem: My desk top has a "straight alpha-n" option under "injector control". The lap top, that's being used for tuning, only offers two different "alpha-n/ VE blends" under injector control. What's going on? I want to use the straight alpha-n on the lap top/Megasquirt II but can't.
Thanks, Tony

Make sure both are set for the firmware you're actually using.

Can you tell me how to check this? ...and, which menu is the most current? The one that offers straight alpha-n or the one that offers "blends" only?

Firmware is displayed on at the very top of the TunerStudio window.

Be careful with the example projects.

Did you create a project for your MS on both computers, or did you open an example project. As Matt said, what firmware your project is set up for will change all the menus and dialogs.

If you press CTRL+P, you will see the firmware Signature that the project is setup for under ECU Definition. They are most likely set to something different on each computer.

It is critical that your project is set for the firmware you are actually using.

The best way to do that is turn on the controller and create a new Project and click Detect. TS should find your firmware and then just go through the rest of the new project wizard.
