No RPM during sensor test

No RPM during sensor test

I am testing all my sensors on a carburetor engine before I design a manifold for the throttle body. The MS is functional with the stim and the harness is complete. The Map, IAT, engine temperature, and TPS all work when tested on the running engine. I am getting nothing from my VR( no RPM movement at all). I know the VR works because I tested the trigger wheel(35 teeth 1 gap) design with an electric drill on the bench. The mount for the VR sensor is fully adjustable. I have it centered on the wheel and about 0.010" away from the wheel.
Is there any test I can do to know my sensor is aligned correctly. Or is there nothing until the (2) pots are adjusted. I am using TunerStudio MS Lite software.

Actually, I think .010 is a bit close. (mine is ~.050 IIRC) And I can't say definitively, that is your problem anyway!

Being centered on the wheel should be optimal IMO. I assume the sensor is perpendicular to the wheel also?

I would recommend starting with both pots fully CCW. (I have never found a need to change mine btw)

Since you have tested it, with a drill on the bench, only 2 things come to mind for me. 1st is wiring. Are you certain that your wiring is correct and connected to the correct DB37 pins? 2nd is the MS input. Assuming that you are using the VR input, are you certain that you have the board is jumpered correctly?

Just a couple thoughts......

I realigned the sensor to be exactly centered, perpendicular and about 0.030" gap. Started the car and I had everything for a moment. The set ECU!!! lit up and TunerStudio went off line. This happened yesterday. I am unable to re set it the comport. It all works fine removed from the car with the stim.
Is there something giving feed back that will disable the connection from the laptop to the ECU? Like there being no fuel pump or injectors
