Cannot control timing with MSII

Post by rflanery »

We have the MSII working great with everything except controlling the coil directly. We have gone over the wiring, regrounded everything properly but it simply will not control the timing. We have tested the voltage on pin#36 and we are getting ~4-5 volts but it is constant, no grounding to trigger the coil.

One thing that bothers us is that we cannot find IGBTOUT or IGN to verify that jumpers are set correctly according to http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/vb921.htm , we just assumed everything was jumpered properly since we did not build the board ourselves.

What is the PCB type - V3 or 3.57?

IIRC, the v3.57 has no jumpers for the IGBT. The bit you refer to in the manual is for the V3 board.

I'm looking at the V3.57 schematic, and there is indeed an IGBTIN pad that has to be jumped to JS10. There is no IGBTOUT or IGN pad; the output pin of the coil driver is directly connected to the DB37 pin.
