SBC HEI 7 PIN large cap Distributor

Post by 84tpivette »

Hello all need to figure out the Ignition wiring MS2 V3. Using a sbc large cap (with coil in cap) Distributor has 4 wires coming out of housing

tach signal is a purple wire with a white trace [pin R] db37 pin #24
advance control signal is a white wire [pin E] db37 pin #36
override (cranking) signal is a tan wire with a black trace [pin B] going thru relay and 5v coming from tps ref
ground is a black wire with a red trace [grounded to distributor case] grounded at ecu point

Used this diagram and board modded for HEI from same page

i have all wired up but CKP- (black shielded) and bare wire in shielding don't go anywhere What do i do with the two wires

Nothing, on a 7 pin HEI module. The black wire would be used for the ground pin on an 8 pin unit, and the shield is only grounded at one end.
