Using Ford PIP only (no TFI)

Post by serpentnoir »

I am looking for others who may have used the PIP signal for a cam trigger/position. I want to remove the TFI module and go directly to the Hall sensor inside the distributor. It is a 12V signal. I already have a 36-1 wheel on the crank.

Can this be done? What were the results?

If you're looking for a 36-1/1 arrangement, you'll need to remove all but one tooth on the distributor's shaft. Once that's done, this is a very reliable and accurate configuration.
