Fidle on a Chevy engine
OK, so here I am. I had him order the MS-II 3.57 ‘squirt. I put in 2.886 and went to work just like I had done on other engines before.
BUT the Edelbrock system uses a Ford style 2-wire PWM IAC. The megamanual says the MS-II 3.57 ‘squirt can handle the PWM IAC without any transistor mods. So far so good.
But I’ve never wired up a PWM IAC before. I’ve always used the Fidle for relays and other switches and stuff. Since the Edelbrock has a PWM IAC, I figured I'd use the ‘Squirts Fidle wire. It should be a piece of cake.
OK maybe it isn’t such a piece of cake. Come on, it's only 2 wires. How hard can it be??? but it's beating me now.
I set the bins for setting of 10 to 100. My assumption is that the idle should get faster or slower as the engine warms up. (If faster I’ll reverse the settings.) I set the frequency to someplace around 320. But nothing happens. No noise or vibration from either PWM valve (I tried two).
Did I miss something? Anybody have some rough guesses on a Ford 2 wire PWM valve?
I should be able to get this to work easily... It's only 2 wires...
Here's an MSQ with my settings. Thank you for having a look.
By the way. Computers hate me. They cry when I get near them.
Thanks guys
