The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

So i have a ms2 v3.57 on my e30 m20 and had it running but it would break up right around 1900rpm if i held it there but i could rev past it and it would be steady throughout the rest of the rpm range. I have a resistor inline with the crank signal wire which I needed in order to get past the 2500rpm wall that these 60/2 wheels commonly have problems with. Anyways my dumbass thought maybe it could be fixed by adjusting the pots so I started messing with them and it got even worse started breaking up everywhere and totally messed up and forgot where I originally had them. turned the car off now I can't get it started back up. I got r52 turned counter clockwise until I heard and felt the slight click but I can't for the life of me find it r56. Also my idle got super rich when I started adjusting them low 10s. Is there such a thing as turning the pots too much and messing them up? I still feel like adjusting them is part of my original problem but now I just need to get the car back up and started.
Also...connects to tuner studio with key on but no red lights on the board come on, can't remember if they did before or not...when i turn the key all 3 lights flash really quick then nothing and nothing when cranking.
Alright Ill fess up...I accidentally flipped the h1 boot, didn't know what it was at the time so I just flipped it back. Not sure exactly what is does but reprograms the cpu? do I need to put the firmware back on there or something? Did I mess it up pretty good? as you can see I'm a noob but ill get there one day... Also stating previously why it was running so bad in the low 10s was because the map line was disconnected
do I need to put the firmware back on there or something?
Probably not. Unless something unusual happened you should be able to unset the the bootloader and the previous code (and user settings) should still be there.
I can reload the code if I have too but how do I get it out of the boot mode? Ive flipped the h1boot back to where I found it but its still in boot mode because when I turn the key on the 3 lights come on for a split second and then turn off.
The H1 board jumper has nothing to do with the bootloader of the MS2 card. Suggested practice on the MSExtra site is to install a 0.1uF cap in that spot, for additional smoothing of the VBat input.

it says here that the correct response for boot loader mode is for the leds to flash then go back out when the ms is powered up, which is what it is doing. Or is that just when its on the sim? Just cant get it out of boot loader mode now since it doesn't that everytime now and will crank but won't start. haven't touched the tune and started everytime before then. And connects to tuner studio still no problem
Okay update
triple checked to make sure my tune was on there and that the firmware was on there as well so I made sure of that I started searching around for other things. you guys were right about the lights flashing and going off being normal Im not sure why it says it in the manual though. I pulled the coil plug off and checked for spark, on the current pot adjustments i didn't get any spark so i back them both back all the way and started with r56 and didn't give it much maybe half a turn clockwise after that and got spark, plugged it back in and she started right up I mustve went crazy adjusting them earlier and it was all off. Anyways thanks guys!
