Conformal Coating

Post by Daryl »

Do you just spray both sides of the pcb while covering inlet to map sensor?

Nothing in the manual or on the can of conformal coating that I bought...
Thanks

I have the same question about the conformal coating. The assembly guide says to use Krylon Krystal, but it doesn't get real specific about how to apply. I have a MS-II V3 board. Do you leave the daughter board on the main board. or remove it and mask off the pins and socket so you can spray the bottom of the daughter board. Do you spray over the heatsink? Thanks

Absolutely agreed! (50+ years also!) And future repairs/mods are more difficult once it is used, IMHO.

Yes, but are your boxes in the warm, dry cab of a car / van / truck, or out in the rain and puddles on a motorcycle?

I'd be more inclined to find a waterproof enclosure and connectors, etc, rather than relying on coating the PCB.
