I am cleaning up the GM 5.7L TBI unit I have and have two more questions. Where does one get the electrical plugs for the injectors and the little plastic/rubber ??? rectangular piece that looks like it must be a grommet for the wiring to the injectors that fits in the rim of the body under the air cleaner face? Are these only available at the dealer?

I'm not that familiar with GM engines, but I'd think those parts would be available at a dealer. What I did was find a late model car in the junk yard and I took off the entire engine and engine comparment wiring harnesses. Stripped it down and used the wire (nicely color coded stuff!) and the connectors to build up my own harness.

I went to the dealer today and they had the connectore....for $39 EACH. I told her I couldnt afford plastic at that price. The rubber grommet, they didnt even show in the pictorial. The showed the gap it filled, but not the filler.
But in their defense they had both of the fuel line connections I needed and for only $10 and $11 each. I ordered them and will pick them up on Monday.

Connectors can be had at a junk yard.
I have made wire grommets out of RTV. Just very lightly coat the sides of the "mold" you need to remove with grease; kind of a wipe on, then wipe off with your finger tip. The RTV won't stick to a greasy surface and the "grommet" will be removable.
