Mazda factory IAT and ECT sensors

Post by KIADOHC »

Does anyone here have tried using the factory Mazda IAT and ECT sensors? What are its resistance curve values that I need to enter with Easytherm?

Im using MS1 V2.2...no extra code yet

Particularly the Mazda BP(1800cc DOHC 16-valve) and the Z5(1500cc DOHC 16-valve) from the Mazda 323/Protege...since they share the same ECT(grey colored) except for the IAT

Thanks

Try the Mazda RX-7 defaults option from the file menu in EasyTherm. I seem to recall the sensors on the BP series are the same as the rotaries.

Roger.

Thanks renns

...based on the file menu...selecting RX-7 defaults....the Bias resistor for the ECT is the same value as the GM defaults

but the IAT value for the Bias resistor...changed from 2490ohm to 47000ohm

Do I need to change the resistor R4 in the PCB(IAT) from 2.49K to 47K?

Thanks :)

Yes, the bias resistor will need to be changed. The curve for the Mazda air temp thermistor is far away from the GM one.
