Throttle Position Sensor at 78% when closed, 76% when opened

Post by rasoul »

I have a Mercedes with drive by wire. When I was running an Apexi unit, I had to adjust the type of Throttle do a "down" type sensor and then calibrate it. I couldn't find anything similar to this in the MSII settings. I'm using a v3 board.

Anyone have any ideas? Or could point me in the right direction? Thanks.

have you calibrated the TPS yet?

in MT, i think it's under 'Tools' menu. keep Throttle shut, calibrate for closed, and then open it and calibrate for open. when i did this first time, my open voltage was less than closed voltage and MT told me that it would take it, but it looked 'funny' because it was backwards. i switched ground & VREF wires, recalibrated and it worked.

also- TPS is susceptible to not cleaning the flux off the MSII board. i had TPS creep problems, where the voltage was very similar at closed and open, and it would creep on the dial. this was only after i had to go back and jumper D1 & D2, where there was some residual flux. i cleaned around those diodes and the TPS prob was fixed.

so my suggestion is to try calibrating first, and then go back and make sure board is clean (others have been stung with TPS probs and flux on board too).
