Question regarding using VE tables

I've enabled VE dual tables and according to the Megatune manual, I can use the VE table to tune on the fly. But while watching the VE table 2, the gauges behind are disabled. I'd like to see my AFR while trying to tune the VE table. Is there a way to watch my AFR gauge while dialing in my VE table? I'm trying to do this while revving the engine with no load on the engine. Am I wasting my time doing it with the car sitting still or should I be do this VE table tuning while driving it with some load on the engine? Thanks for any help.

Have you tried "Tuning" in the pull down menu, then "VE Table 1 (MAP)"? This will show you the AFR and allow you to adjust the VE table.

You'll end up doing both eventually. I'd start with tuning the VE table in the areas you can rev the engine to in the shop first, then drive it to tune the other areas. Trying to tune the VE table while driving, however, is tricky at best. Even with someone else driving as you adjust values on the computer, sounds good in theory, but is not very easy in practice. That's where MLV will save your sanity. Drive, datalog, run VE analysis, repeat. When the VE table stops changing values by more than a few numbers, you're good.
