The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

My car has had MS-I contolling just the fuel for a while now. Suddenly one day I go out to start my car and it won't start. So I pluged in my laptop and while I'm cranking the MS-I apears to be shutting on and off and sometimes staying off entirely. As soon as I let go of the key and the starter motor stops all is well. This isn't a new setup, things were working perfectly. I didn't touch any wires, thats not to say something didn't come off by itsself. Ive spend days trying things and researching so this is kinda my last hope. I did notice from my hours of trial and error that if I have the injectors unpluged the MS-I acts fine while cranking (of course with no injectors hooked up it doesn't start). The only thing I can think of now is to reflash the MS or perhaps buy another one. I checked over my wires, checked grounds, etc. I'm really upset that this has disabled my car. My wiring setup is just like the one I saw in the manual. Also I bought my MS premade from DIYAutoTune about 8 months ago. Thanks for all the replies in advance.
I had a similar issue today. mine filled up the cyls with fuel. tried to crank and woulnt turn over because MSII opened the injectors permanently. I fixed it by reloading the firmware on the MSII. I took cover off. then put bootloader mode on "jumper on MSII chip". downloaded firmware from http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/code.htm and the software to load and flashed the chip. before cranking I had to take the plugs out and pruge all the fuel because the cyls were FULL of fuel. but all is good now.
I tried relfashing but it didn't help. I did figure out that if I pluged my injector positive cable to the battery instead of the relay it worked except the injectors go static when megasquirt is off. I took apart my cheap relay and it was all coroded. So I guess it was the relay, I'll buy another one soon and make sure. Strange, I thought if a relay was broken I'd loose complete power not get some. It worked until megasquirt tried to fire the injectors, then I guess too much power was trying to flow through the bad relay and it just overloaded and hence all the resets and such. Thanks.
Attempted start? My car starts now that I took out the bad relay. Was doing some tuning and suddenly everything went lean, maybe my O2 has gone bad. My air temp sensor says 160F, seems high to me, not sure if that is causing the lean out.
Air temp seems fine while im driving, I guess my pesky exhaust leaks heat up the engine bay while fidding in the driveway. Thanks to everyone who posted. Now back to the painful task of tuning.
