Bosch Crimp Tool

Post by np75 »

I am looking for a reasonably priced decent quality tool to crimp the Bosch/Amp connectors. Amp calls them Junior Timer or Junior Power Timer.

http://www.eagleday.com/ampconnectors.html

The above link shows the connectors and halfway down has a non-ratcheting crimp tool for $30. It's the only one that is specfically billed as being for this that is not over $200. Amp sells a tool (Ergocrimp) that is $175 for the frame, and I could not find a price for the proper jaws. MSD sells a crimp tool that has a set of jaws for "Amp pin terminals", I suspect that might be what I am looking for but can't fins any more specific data form MSD. The following link shows this tool and the available jaws.

So has anyone used these tools and give a recomendation? Or give me another suggestion a about a tool to use? I may get the MSD tool anyway for other connectors, if anyone has used it please give your opinion of it.

Thanks

I have and use the same tool as the Bosh Double Crimp Tool ECT-100 and a pair of needle nose to crimp Weather pack pins.

Is it the a similar tool or exactly that one? Do you know if it is actually a tool specifically for this? Are you happy with the way it crimps?

Thanks
