The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

Hello all,
Planing of Megasquirting my '93 Mercedes 300. A buddy of mine just offered me his MS2 which he bought a year or so ago from Patatron.com to install in his WV. He never instaled it and the MS is brand new. But as far as I know it is preset for WV (probably Hall sensor) ignition and preloaded with base maps for WV aswell. From other hand my engine has no Hall sensor, instead the ignition is trigered by crank position sensor, located at the balancer. Is it possible to run/trigger the above mentioned MS2 by the coil negative terminal or CPS without modifying it (I am not good with electronics, at all ).
Any input will be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
I'm electronically handicapped as well, but so far as the code in the controller, it is probably blank, or can easily be uploaded with what you need. MS2 can be easily configured to use the snesor you have. Can you call the company that sold it and ask how it is configured regarding pickups?

The problem is that this company is out of business and can't be called.
As for the code I figured out the same - it could be reprogramed to suit my needs. As for recofigurating it - man, I am afraid I am too 'handicapped' to handle this.
Thanks anyway.

You might consider sending it to one of the vendors on this forum and having them check it our for you. They should also be able to configure it to your liking.
