700r Spare Port Config for TCC

Post by Bender142 »

I have added a transistor circuit in the proto area for locking up a torque conerter (700r4). I'm using a MS-2 and have verified the wiring/connection out through the DB37 (which will drive the relay that switches the trans). I'm using the PM5 port out to pin 5 on the DB37.

I have attempted to config PM5 in Tuner Studio but I'm not seeing any 'signal' on the wire. Just for verificaion I'm using the TPS set to 20 and the hyst. set to 2, blip the throttle, and the looking at an ohm meter hooked to the wire (pin 5).

I build the switching circuit per the picture on P.2 of the Spare Port Configuration in the MS-2 manual. I believe I have the E pin to ground, the B pin to a 1K resistor, and the C pin going out.

I have tried all the various cominations (0,0; 0,1; 1,0; 1,1) in TS for the Power On and Trigger values.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Are you seeing any voltage on the base of the transistor when the circuit is supposed to be on?

I'd like to check the settings; please post a copy of your MSQ.

Is the LED circuit still intact? If so, does the LED come on when you adjust the TPS pot on a Stim?

I loaned the Stim to a friend so I'm working with the ECM in the vehicle. With the ignition key in the "ON" position I've attempted to set the spare port to trigger from the TPS (as a verification of the circuit). The LED is still in place but I used the 1k resistor from the ACCEL ENRICH circuit in the proto area. I'll post a picture this weekend that should show what I've done. I have not been able see the LED or any signal coming from the pin 5 wire that I added.

Thanks Matt
