Crank Wheel Slipping

I have an EEC-IV EFI 434 cubic inch Ford motor with an EDIS-8 setup. I use a 36-1 Crank Wheel and a VR sensor. I set it up to 10 degrees advanced and it runs great. However sometimes when I run the motor hard, the Crank Wheel will slip. Then the timing will be too far advanced. I had to be towed home twice because the ignition timing jumped.

The Crank Wheel is sandwiched between the Crank Danper and the Crank Pulley. There is some clearance built-in that allows me to adjust the Crank Wheel to set the timing. The VR sensor is fixed in place. I lock the Crank Wheel with two set screws through the Carnk Pulley, but it still slips under hard acceleration.

How is the Crank Wheel normally secured into place?

It should be bolted in securely - you probably need to change things so it has no adjustment provisions. You can use the Trigger Angle setting or make the sensor bracket adjustable instead.

Something wrong with the fixing. I assume it is spaced from the boss rather than just touching the 'V' of a pulley?

Mine is bolted in place - the trigger wheel has slots for adjustment - and hasn't moved.
