Installing MK-HEI on MS2/V3 board w/HEI 8 pin

I read and watched the video on the Nova install. My MS2 has step 50 installed. In the video the board must have 5 volts at that location. Mine must need the proto area with the resistor set-up (a little confusion on this step). Since it seems to be remove two jumpers and plug in the two wires (Nova instructions). Do I need the MK-HEI kit? If I install the resistor/proto area 5 volt modification.

The MK-HEI is simply one way out of several possible methods to perform this mod.

Do I still want to use D8 with resistor in the proto area (for 5 volts), while using the FIDLE for my PWM IAC? If not where should I get power? I am using the relay board. I like the idea of using MS2 for all of the timing including start.

You can't use FIDLE for both a PWM idle control and a 5 volt signal to the HEI - you'd have to make another spare output for that.

Sorry for the confusion. I used step 62 to to drive the PWM idle control. I used a tip122 and did not install Q20, D8, and R39. With the power coming from FIDLE terminal on the relay board to the valve and grounded at the engine. And the diode parallel from the power side to ground.
I am looking for the necessary steps to power the module and control all the timing in MS2. If I need to use the MK-HEI kit, I have it. I have the distributor wired to the relay board and the coil ready for power.
This is installed in a 1971 Chevelle with a 383 and edelbrock proflow intake.
I've had this running with a 7 pin large cap HEI on the tach. wire. Now I want switch to the 8 pin small cap with full timing control.
Thank You for the help.

I was hoping to get a little input on how to get the 5 volts at cranking speed. Like I said earlier,I would like to control all of the timing through MS2. I am not a electronic genius or a computer wizard. I am a old car nut that is moving into some new territory with fuel injection. This has been fun and frustrating at the same time. And you wonder why people stick with carbs? I am not trying to be mean, but some assistance or a guiding hand sure would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

Use the relay arrangement shown here.

I was away on vacation for 3 weeks. I will say "its alive - its alive :yeah!: :yeah!: :yeah!: . It is running on the 8 pin. I am starting to tune the fuel and having fun driving the car :D :D :D . Thank you for pointing me in the correct direction.

The relay shown in the diagram, I can use the FIdle relay on my relay board for this purpose correct? I'm trying to hook up a 7 pin HEI and an using a stepper motor for IAC. Just looking for confirmation, thanks.

The FIDLE relay is hooked to 12 volts, not 5 like the relay in the diagram.

Yup, I see it now... 'B' on the ignition module. Looks like I need to modify my relay board... Thanks.

One thing that I am unclear about is pin #26 on the DB37 is the Vref to the TPS according to the v3 wiring diagram. But on the HEI schematic posted above pin #26 goes to the ignition module. Which part a I confused about. I'm using a relay board but I may just wire in an external relay for the HEI. At this point I'm trying to make sure I understand all of my wiring. Thanks.

Correct on both counts. You split it and run it to both.
