AFR different between guages

Post by impalakid68 »

The gauge in megasquirt (laptop) reads 10:1 and the innovate LC-1 gauge reads 11:1, when the engine is cold. As the engine temp. rises the difference widens, the laptop stays the same and innovate goes up to 12:1.
WHICH gauge is correct? I recalibrated the LC-1 in free air. And in Tunerstudio I used LC-1 default. I am having trouble with the serial connection with Logworks. I am using a adapter to USB. The laptop says the USB is working. But when I go to Logworks I get a serial connection error box and asks about 9 volts. Everything works fine when I am connected to the MSII. I am switching serial cables on the USB adapter between MSII and Innovate using Comm 3.
I have switched laptops. Both are using windows, the old one was using XP and this one is 7. These are problems after the switch and I try to move forward. I hope this makes some sort of sense because as usual I am confused.

Measure the output wires from your lc-1. i had the same problem the wire going to the gauge was reading 5 volts the wire going to ms was reading 4 volts both of these were measured after the vehicle sat over night, key on but not running. Although i had both still set to the default 0-5 volts in lm tune. If you find they are off you could trace the wires back to the lc1 controller and make sure the wire insulation and shielding has not been compromised. Other than that i havent found a fix, but which ever wire(if either) is reading 5v at dead lean is the accurate gauge.
