No Start all of a sudden, ECU Dead?

Post by kevmac »

Hello everyone, I have a car here running a Ford 4.6 mod motor with an MSII, Ford Edis setup and Tunerstudio Lite V2.0.6. Car was running and I have made some tuning changes without issue. Something went wrong yesterday when I was making some adjustments in the file. I was connected to the ECU with the ignition on/engine off and the software all of a sudden lost communication and the screen started flashing. It gave me an error message, I think it was along the lines of lost file or communication. I thought nothing of it so I didn't write it down. Checked all connections, still no go, tried multiple reconnects, reboots on the car and my laptop, still no success. Since this happened the car will not start and the fuel pump runs all the time when the ignition is on(before it would just do a short prime like factory). If anyone has some possible insight on where to start I would greatly appreciate it. Hoping someone can give me a shortcut in the right direction without having to spend a day or two disecting and researching. I didn't do the install so I know very little about this engine management system.

Thank you in advance!

First thing I'd try doing is reloading firmware. I've seen this bring "dead" ECUs back before.
