Injector bank not firing

Post by Keith1365 »

I am running MS2 fuel only for now. It has been running pretty well for 4 years. It has started developing a problem with one bank of injectors going dead at idle. I have only noticed it at idle and only if it sits and idles for more than a couple of minutes. If you shut the car off and restart it usually comes runs well again. i tried to data log if at the PW for both banks are reading the same and dont appear to change. The bank that goes dead is the side the O2 sensor in it so it all falls apart after quickly. Any thoughts? Random act so far. SInce it is officallly winter here I have a couple of months to figure it out.

We have some notes on troubleshooting the circuit here.

However, it's going to be a bear when the problem is only happening intermittently. Good luck.

If the fault is within MS rather than the +12v supply to the injectors, or wiring to them, the most likely cause for an intermittent connection is a dry solder joint. These can conduct when cold, and give problems as things heat up.

You can look for one using a strong light and magnifying glass - or simply re-solder every part of that circuit. They are more likely on a home built one - especially if lead free solder was used.
