ts cycling online/offline

For discussing Phil Tobin's TunerStudio MS is the MegaSquirt edition of TunerStudio, a next generation tuning application. It provides the ability to configure and tune all MegaSquirt controllers and is 100% compatible with MegaTune ini files and msq's.

ts cycling online/offline

Post by rukavina »

ts version v2.6.19
monitor v2.920.abs.s19...... I think ..... ms2 extra comms 333e2

never had this problem until I had to get a new laptop ... running windows 10. loaded new s19 on both squirt and trans controller when I upgraded from 4146 to 5102.dont think that had anything to do with anything.

open ts and it goes online for a short time then about every 3-5 seconds will go offline then it will go back online and then repeat. I have tried 2 different usb/serial adapters. one of which I have use with ts from the time I started this project 2 years ago. also had a running datalog that shows when it cycles but it was too big to post

That would be a mis-match.. B&G MSII Firmware vs MS2Extra? I don't think that is right...
Your ini and TunerStudioAppDebug.txt are showing you as having MS2Extra, but the AppDebug is never showing any communication with the MegaSquirt.

Also I see that you have a trans controller set up as a CAN device, if that is not configured properly that can cause the cycling on and off. But I cannot be sure that is the cause as there is no attempt to talk with it in that log.

at work right now.....did this last night...... when I hit detect I get ms2extra comms 333e2.

the tranny is loaded with monitor_5201_abs.s19 gpio_mshift_5201.ini I can verify this tonight/tomorrow
the two controllers do communicate with each other. I can configure settings to the tranny thru the squirt via canbus and have data back and forth (red /green indicators lower right corner). I get values to/from tranny also. all works well other than ts cycling
I will get as much info as I can either tonight or tomorrow and email. here is some of the tranny stuff
Monitor_5201.abs.s19
trans.ini

well I think I stumbled across my problem. I went in to verify msq,ini,s19 bla bla. couldn't get anything done due to ts cycling and something you said about ini mismatch on can bus..... so I figured I would shut down can comms to see if that helped.... well in project properties on page 2 is a can comm setting...... so I disable it and cycle power and waalllaaa... I have no more cycling and I have can bus communication with the gpio..... so I go to page 3 where can devices are and down on those settings can bus comms is activated. so there must be some conflict between page 2 settings and page 3. I only ran the truck for about 5 min but considering I couldn't stay online for 5 seconds I think this was the problem. if anything changes I will repost. I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE ELSE!!!!! AND THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!! :yeah!:
