I can't speak from experience, but just looking at that thing makes me cringe.

Imagine what's happening to your nicely atomized fuel spray as it's rammed down that narrow tunnel.

I would want to see some video or a picture of that in action before I put it in my car.

The code in the MegaSquirt would cover pretty much any situation where the engine died as a result of the accident.

Having been in 5+ accidents in my lifetime (none my fault) I can say from experience that this is unfortunately a rare occurrence.

In all but one, the engine continued to run ...

Okay, so air velocity isn't such a concern at 15,000 RPM... how about at a tenth of that, say at idle?

I just wonder how that would work at low RPM's?

I like your sig... LBC + technology = reliable style.

Your under-hood temps should be way lower than most modern FWD cars. Don't forget the cooling action of the incoming air. You could negate 10+ degrees of underhood temps pretty easily.

Be sure to post that blog address. I'm intrigued by the ...

Any reason you picked that particular intake?

Mild steel is nice to work with. Then you can fit the pieces, tack it together with a cheapo Mig or even a stick welder and then take it to a shop to have it completed if you're not confident in your welding skills. It won't crack if you need to adjust a bend and it isn't overly sensitive to being ...

If your question is about troubleshooting, configuration, or tuning, you MUST include your processor type (MS-I or MS-II) and code version in your post. If your question is about PCB assembly or modifications, you must also include the main board version number (1.01, 2.2 or 3.0) .

My gut says ...

I never understood that logic either... I must be wrong, but I would think that by the time the coolant is warm enough to warm the incoming air, the engine is warm enough to not require warmed incoming air!

The exhaust manifold is almost instantly hot; a much better source for warm air IMHO! My ...

I remember someone used a Neon coil pack with EDIS with great success... they use a standard plug type terminal so you can use "normal" wires.

If you're looking to read magnets, then you need a Hall sensor. If you're reading a steel wheel, you need a variable reluctance sensor. (If you're looking at VR sensors and see that they are "hall type" sensors, that means they do not output voltage, rather they switch a load.

For an internal combusion engine which is naturally aspirated, each revolution will consume a given amount of air at ambient pressure. No more air will be ingested in a given ...

The MS will support a second MAP sensor input, it's a mod dubbed "MegaBarro" and if you do a search for that word, you should come up with it.
