wideband o2 control authority

the higher my control authority gets the worse my engine rpm chases back and forth a few hundred rpm under cruise or any load. even idle. why is this? i moved it down to 3% so it wouldnt do it anymore.

Re: changing injections per cycle effects?

my cylinders are about 3/4 a liter but I tell ya with even a .2ms pw under 160+ temp, and .1prime, it will flood unless i crack the throttle.

Re: changing injections per cycle effects?

ya im actually gonna give that a shot after some research I did last night here on the forums, my prime was 2. at 25F and at 160F it was .1, so I made it 2. across the board, i will give it a shot tonight see what happens.

any suggestion for a starting prime point? is 2ms enough or should I do much ...

Re: changing injections per cycle effects?

not the answer I wanted but thanks, so if cranking pw is every ignition cycle that means for my v8, it squirts 8 times per revolution?

that makes sense why .1ms cranking is not enough but .2 which is double the fuel is too much and I have to crack the throttle quite a bit to let it fire.

any tips ...

changing injections per cycle effects?

i changed my injections per cycle from 2 to 4, do I need to worry about any of my other settings such as cranking pulsewidth? I have had a problem with warm starting, .1ms of cranking is not enough and .2ms of fueling is too much. I was curious if changing the injections per cycle would effect the ...

Re: alpa-n question

thank you matt, I did a test last night in which in my alpha-n table, i set my the cell my engine idles in to 20kpa, and on my vetable, at 20kpa, and the correct rpm, i set it around 47ve which my engine idles at with the map just fine, but with alpha-n enabled, it does not idle at all unless i ...

how does blended alpha-n work

specifically how do the rpm points work from blend to full map? is it scalar as well? is there a bad or good range of rpm from blend to pure map?
is it a bad idea to use my bottom 6x6 grid of my ve table specifically for my alpha-n conversion table so i can tune my alpha n specifically?

Re: alpa-n question

cool! if my alpha-n rpm column points (800-1200-1600etc) dont match my ve table rpm points (600-900-1200-1500)
does it interpolate a ve number between the two closest rpm cells?

alpa-n question

alpha-n qestion, when using alpha-n, you have your tps x rpm table, and fill in fake kPa values, when megasquirt looks at what kPa to reference in the VE table, what rpm column does it also go to? does it follow the same rpm as made in alpha-n table?

example:

tps 50%.................50kpa
rpm ...

cold cranking just fine, hot cranking way to long.

Im using the two point table and my -40 degree and my 160 degree cranking pw is both only 2ms, but in my cool california night weather around 50-60 degrees, it fires up fine but once the engine is warmed up (160) it cranks for about 3-4 seconds before it fires. what Can I do?

Re: car wont start

yes thank you I went out and did as outlined above, worked well! my prime at 60degrees is only 1ms, and cranking pw is also only 1ms, and my req_fuel bumped up to 30 before it stayed running.

now I need to fudge with the VE tables to get cruising good.

(i need a wideband)

once the car was warmed ...
