IAC control question?

Post by TraviZ »

What do I need to do to have my IAC open all the way when I turn the ecu on, and keep it open? Do i need to set the tables to 0 or 255+ ?

I'm not sure this has ever been done, but you would need to set it all to 0, but if this goes in the wrong direction because of the motor or the way it is wired, then try all 255s..

is there a way i can see without the engine running, which way its moving if i look into my throttle body? alo is there a better tuning method? I was gonna leave it wide open until normal operating temperature, then close it, and adjust my throttle body manually to achieve perfect idle. then work my way backwards (colder engine temps) and slowly open the IAC.

(couldn´t you remove the stepper and watch what it is doing when just booting MS without starting the engine. You know what you told Megatune to let MS do at startup = which way you expect it to move.)
Range Rover Classic - 4.2V8, c/r 8.9:1, standard - EDIS - KnockSense - Innovate LC-1 - MS-2 (B&G - code 2.883j)(continuous baro)(dualEGO but only one sond used)(stepper IAC)

This should be easy with a stim.

Otherwise, just pull the stepper and plug the hole while the engine warms up (prop throttle open as needed).

I would be surprised if this isn't way too much air for a reasonable idle speed.

But from a practical standpoint, why not just get the stepper open all the way and then unplug it?
