newbie helb with back fires in intake while cranking

Well, it runs. It runs pretty decent after it is started. Running MS2 3.0 with ms2extra code, wasted spark, 2006 ford duratec I4 engine.

Problem is with starting. First of all, I believe I have the tach signal wires reversed, since I can only get it to start by selecting falling edge rather than ...

Re: fuel line setup, please judge

I took the suggestion and and got a tee fitting and used the stock dead end fuel rail. It works! I got the engine fired up for the first time yesterday. It's running really rich, but from reading, other people with duratecs are running much lower fuel pressure than me, so I'll try that today.

Re: fuel line setup, please judge

A guy on a forum was selling his aeromotive a1000-6 fi regulator for a real good price, so I went ahead and picked it up. Came with all the an-6 fittings plus some an-6 to barb fittings. I love it when you can get something better for cheaper. In regard to hoses and adapters, there is a little ...

Re: Some sites for finding fuel injector specifications

If you look at the thread linked bellow, there are two spreadsheets. One with a ton of bosch specs, even new ones, and one that does unit conversion. The bosch spreadsheet sent by Mk1rocco has info I was unable to find anywhere else.

Re: flow rate for bosch 0-280-156-205? searched

Anybody using that spreadsheet should be warned. As excellent as it is, the flow was tested with heptane which has a different density than petrol. I found a nice spreadsheet calculator online that will convert everything for you. According to the spreadsheet, my injectors flow 22.34 lb/hr at 380 ...

Re: flow rate for bosch 0-280-156-205? searched

The dealer says they can't help. I called Ford and a nice young lady called me back a few days later and said she was told to tell me "80 to 180". No units or anything, just that. I emailed Bosch and they haven't replied for over a week. I'm nearing the point where I'm going to have to buy a whole ...

fuel line setup, please judge

I would appreciate some constructive criticism on the fuel line setup I'm about to buy. I'm putting a 2006 ford ranger i4 duratec engine into my 2993 nissan 240sx. The fuel rail on the duratec is one of the dead end ones where the fuel pump controls the pressure, so I neeed to convert it to return ...

flow rate for bosch 0-280-156-205? searched

Does anybody know or can find out the flow rate for the stock injectors of off a 2006 ford ranger i4 duratec engine? They are yellow and have the bosch code 0-280-156-205 and the ford code 4L5G-AA. I searched all the sites from the sticky, but this injector is absent in all of them. It should be ...

Re: tmap sensor a good idea?

I thought about that, but the hole is not the right shape and the intake is plastic, so I can't modify it easily.

tmap sensor a good idea?

I'm putting a 2006 Ford ranger duratec I4 engine into my 1993 nissan 240sx and am using megasquirt 3.0. I did not get a intake air temperature sensor with the engine and I've been looking into what my options are. One option that seems nice and clean is replacing my stock map (manifold absolute ...
