Running AC Idle Problem

Post by rabbit61319 »

I can't get the problem fixed....
When the AC is on, the idle fluctuates a lot that the car wouldn't idle at all.
The rpm drops so low between shifting and idling.
After couple cycles, the car just died.
Can someone please help? Thanks!

Watch the bin that the VE table enters when the AC comes on. This bin is likely too lean and that's why the engine stalls. You should be able to watch the AFR dip as the engine changes RPM. Also, be sure the ACCEL is not being triggered by a sudden MAP change. You can also datalog this event and study it more closely to tell what's happening for sure.

Do you have any provision to raise the idle speed when the compressor is running? It's pretty easy to rig up a valve to do this - you don't even have to run it through MS.
