Lancia/FIat tach signal

Post by kingwrench »

Building M/SII system v3.0 for a 76 Lancia Scorpion. using EDIS ignition sysem. My question is how to obtain the proper tach output signal for the vehicle from the M/S ecu . I cant find any info if the Lancia used the neg or pos side of the coil to drive the tach? And the proper hookup for the tach for my application. Much appericiated Lance

Lance -
The tach pick-up is from the negative side of the coil for my '79 twin cam (carburated, now fuel injected). The Lancia is most likely the same.
The diode trick described at the end of the EDIS page should work, but I have not done it with mine yet.
