erratic RPM

Post by jorknow »

I finished my MS II, V 3 a bit ago, and I'm currently testing wheel trigger settings. I got it to read the RPM signal correctly, but it's very erratic. It'll hover at say 6500, then jump suddenly to 5500, and back up. I'm using a JimStim to test it currently on my desk. Any help? Also, do I have to install a jumper on the MS its self to read the trigger? It's a 60-2 Wheel with a Hall Sensor. Thanks in advance.

As long as you are getting an RPM reading, even a bouncy one, on the Stim, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Some JimStim versions get a bit touchy with their signal as it gets close to its maximum RPM, and the higher the tooth count, the lower that maximum is.

Alright, thanks. I just fired up the car, and it doesn't bounce like it did on the stim.
