Use the direct coil control output mod and the Kettering trigger setup at the bottom of the distributor pickups page.

Cheers for the info, sorry for the long period between replies, the wire would have to go to the crank angle sensor I have inside the distributor, correct? Alternatively can I get away with just wiring up to control the coil directly and leave it at that?

Explain fully what you want to do. Do you want MS to control the spark mapping? What is the existing system, and on what engine?

I want the ms to run standalone for fuel and spark, it's running a Kettering system that also has the crank angle sensor built into the distributor, here is a copy of the wiring diagram for stock setup, http://www.n12turbo.com/files/Ignition- ... wiring.jpg and is a 1985 e15et nissan 4 cylinder turbocharged engine

This sounds like an optical pick-up and should work with a 12 volt pull up.

Just been reading up on optical triggers and it sure looks like it, but still doesn't answer the question of what wire I should connect pin 24 to, I have narrowed it down to either the g/y or g/b wire coming off the crank sensor
