Testing without a MS?

For discussing Phil Tobin's TunerStudio MS is the MegaSquirt edition of TunerStudio, a next generation tuning application. It provides the ability to configure and tune all MegaSquirt controllers and is 100% compatible with MegaTune ini files and msq's.

Testing without a MS?

Post by reece146 »

I did some searching around but I haven't had much luck finding what I'm looking for or maybe I'm thinking about it wrong...

Is there a MegaSquirt data set available that could be sprayed to a serial port on a normal PC to simulate the serial output from a MegaSquirt?

I want to play around with simulating a MegaSquirt set of gauges under MSDroid or TunderStudio.

Is this possible? Where can I get the data? Is there a "primer" somewhere on setting this up? Maybe someone has written a program to do this instead of spraying already captured data?

My next project car will have MS and I want to get a leg up over doing the instrument panel early over the fall/winter.

Thanks.

Yes, cat to the serial device so that another serially connected PC running the gauge tools would see it as a live datastream and work as intended.

Do it all on one PC with two serial ports or just redirect to a virtual port.

Surely I'm not the first to want to do something like this?
