1st Gen 4g63 Air Sensor

Post by Bingo »

Does anyone have a map or table that shows the relation of Hz to actual air flow. Most of the info I have found is verry vauge. This is for the sensor on a 1991 Mitsubishi Galant VR4.

Bingo-----

I don't know the flow rate for this sensor but from all the research I've done I believe that the Karman Vortex sensors have a frequency output linear with air volume flow. in the same housing as the vortex sensor will be a temperature sensor and (on some mitsubishi vehicles) a barometric pressure sensor. basically you use the temp and barometer to get the data you need to determine air density, then use that and the frequency to get air mass.
Not for the feint hearted but less complicated than a hotwire/film sensor..
