Injector driver issues

Post by Deaninkc »

I'm using MS-I 2.2. I fried my injector FET driver, which sounds like a common problem. I can't find the more robust IXDI404PI-ND. Doing some research I found a IRL520 FET that has a logic gate rather than needing a driver. Can anyone see a reason why I can't use it and use jumpers over U7? The IRL520 is only rated a 10A compared to 21A for the IRFIZ34G but according to my calculations I should never pull over 4A. Can anyone see a hole in my logic?

The IXD404 is an inverting driver. They have been replaced - check DigiKey for CLA360-ND.
