The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.
I found a fellow selling 60-2 kits for other management setups, which is awesome for me, since my engine is V-belt pulleys and the only other solution is a damper mounted piece mounted around rubber (garbage.) I have a couple of questions! This fellow sells HALL and VR style setups, which would be i...
you may want to install a toothed wheel like a 36-1 wheel... and use the VR input on your megasquirt V3 pcb... if you're running the ms1 cpu (the one without the extrajumpers and crystal on board) you will be able to have some fun with that thing.... i would think somebody knows what the ecotec uses...
I put the shielded tach wire in, grounded the shield and xg1 to the head and a ton of noise is gone THE NOISE DID NOT SHOW UP IN MEGATUNE AT ALL.... so.. you may have noise but mt may just skip the pulses or something... i recommend grounding xg1 to the head! (for a hall style setup.)
the boschs were old and were from an engine which was 100 hp n/a stock... i'm using an engine that makes around 150 160 hp good news, injectors running 13.2-5 :1 make an 81% duty cycle in 3rd gear around the peak power levels... in my case, these injectors helped, not to say either design is superio...
So, I've redone the wiring, ran a ground directly from the battery up to the sensors i didn't ground through the relay board(relay board has its own power / ground wires already.) I don't know what to say but since I've wrapped the harness and redone the grounds etc, I swear the timing errors have g...
I think I'm maxing out my 19 lb injectors on my engine making around 150 160 hp... any thoughts on if i should use these bosch disc style? I read the faq from sdsefi and it was saying the ones i have now have lousy throttle response and bad idle but the bosches should work a lot better overall... (b...
New Ignition wires are definite on the way, is there a plus to shielding the signal wire only for tach signal? it should be ok with 12v powering the hall and the ground in the jacket as well? I've recently replaced my alternator too, 110 amps baby...and a new 4 hp starter... winter won't like me thi...
First Jim, thanks for your input. The extra windows were just a thought, I was thinking of the setup that they have on nissans mazdas etc CAS... I believe with 24 or 36 holes in a disc for more resolution. I had a post going with bruce and he was saying that timing errors such as this are typically ...
I'm using a 4 window hall right now but I'm thinking of making a 36 window hall instead...anybody have any thoughts on that? I have a lot of timing errors, i'm just wondering if this would help overall, I don't think there is a ton of slop in the dizzy as it is right now..any response is appreciated...
You usually want one VE or Ignition value to keep the car from stalling around 500 rpm say if your idle is 800-1000rpm (perhaps lower on a v8 or v10 etc) Make sure the value doesn't conflict with your cranking value. Then you want one at around your exact idle value for your hot idle or perhaps one ...
Hello there. I am under the impression my injectors from 1990 are wearing and whatnot....this seems like a simple question but.... Do injectors suffer from fatigue ? I would assume they would after several years of usage with warm ups and cool downs... My idle is pretty solid but it still wanders an...
